Event Over

The past and current energy system works in a simplistic bulk consumption model where consumers consume power, metered only in how much is used over a period of time, whereupon a bill is then raised for payment. This is in sharp contrast to most other commodities that are transacted piecemeal as the commodity is required. One attribute of the future energy system is that energy will be transacted, but this time, the transactions will be automated by systems as disparate as generation, through distribution, to the consuming premises and discrete consuming devices.
