Industrial facilities, including manufacturing and process control consume very large amounts of energy, normally in systems that are controlled by Industrial Automation (IA) systems focused on production and system efficiencies. Those very systems, in some manner connected with information about the current value of energy at the grid level, can allow industrial facilities to contribute to the broader energy system and reap economic benefits within the industrial facilities themselves.
