Lauren Navarro is an attorney who coordinates EDF's state smart grid regulatory efforts to green the electricity grid and make it smarter.
Since starting at EDF, she has focused on energy efficiency, green buildings, and implementing "Pay as You Drive" insurance — initiatives that are designed to reduce greenhouse gas emissions and costs for California households and businesses.
Lauren is currently working on implementation of California's smart grid planning efforts under SB 17 (Padilla) and other clean energy issues.

Before joining Environmental Defense Fund, Lauren interned and volunteered at a number of public interest-related organizations, including the Planning and Conservation League, Senior Legal Hotline and Legal Services of Northern California. She also interned with the Law Offices of Bill Yeates, which represents organizations and individuals seeking to protect local, regional and statewide environmental resources.
