Privacy and Data Access

Event Over

Privacy, data access, and cyber security issues in telecommunications, online commerce, and social media are now being considered in the context of the Smart Grid. Research suggests that industry and stakeholder concerns may outweigh the fears of most consumers. How can stakeholders evaluate the scope of the potential sensitivities and degree of exposure in their jurisdiction? The panel and roundtables will discuss architectures and policies that safeguard digital gateways from unauthorized intrusion, awareness programs that enable consumers to obtain benefits safely when they choose to share personal usage data, and suggest ways to create safeguards to protect the public from unscrupulous practices.
